Is childcare available?

There is free indoor childcare for children aged 3 and over in the Panorama Restaurant. You are welcome to leave your children there to play and do handicrafts. Pre-registration is not necessary. Childcare is open daily from 10 am – 3 pm. You can find more information at https://www.bergeralm.net/kinderbetreuung/

Is there also lunchtime supervision?

Lunchtime supervision is provided by the childcare service if required.

Does it make a difference to the price whether I book a 3-day course first or a 5-day course immediately?

Yes. Extension days are a little more expensive.

How big does a group have to be for it to come about?

A group is formed when at least 4 people take part. If there are fewer than 4 people, the group can be combined or the daily course times can be shortened.

How big are the groups?

There are usually between 4 and 8 children in the groups. There is a lot going on in the main seasons. However, we make every effort not to assign more than 10 participants per group.

From what age can children attend a ski course?

From the age of 4, children can attend a group ski course.
Children aged 3 can book private lessons for one or two hours.

From what age can children attend a snowboard course?

From the age of 10, children can take part in a snowboard group course. If the children are younger, we recommend private lessons.

Do the booked ski course days have to follow each other?

Basically, yes. It also makes sense to redeem the days one after the other, as the learning program builds on each day. If the children/adults miss a day, this could result in them not being able to join the course and therefore having to change groups.

Is there a final race once a week?

Yes, there is a children’s ski race at the end of each week. The final race is part of the lesson. A ski school ticket is required for this. The race usually takes place on Thursday during lessons. However, it can also take place on Friday or Wednesday. Information on this will be provided at the earliest on the day the course starts, which is always Monday.

Is it possible for our children to attend a course together?
  • In our ski school, children are primarily divided according to their skiing ability and age. So if your children or children who are friends ski at about the same level, please let us know your wishes on the first day when you are allocated, and then the children can of course ski together. If the children do not ski equally well, the child who skis better will be placed in a weaker group!
Is it possible to join a course every day?
  • Advanced skiers & snowboarders can also join an existing course during the week if a suitable group is available.

Do courses also take place on Saturday and/or Sunday?
  • There are only private courses on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • There are no group courses (except during the Christmas vacations).
We only arrive on Thursday and can only book a ski course from Friday or Saturday or Sunday.
  • There will be no one-day group course from Friday. There are only private lessons. The exception is the Christmas period, when group courses start daily, from Monday to Sunday.
Are there lessons in Dutch?
  • Some of our instructors have experience with Dutch-speaking ski school guests. We do not guarantee a Dutch teacher.
How early do I need to book a private ski instructor?
  • The motto here is: the earlier, the better! In the vacation periods, we would definitely recommend that you book your ski instructor via our homepage so that we can meet your requirements. Of course, short-term bookings are also possible at our local offices, subject to availability.
  • Cancellation fees:
What is a family teacher-group teacher?
  • You are welcome to book an instructor for the whole family or for a small group. It should be noted, however, that the level of the participants should be similar, i.e. a beginner is not a good match for a “slightly advanced” skier. Likewise, a 4-5 year old child learns to ski very playfully and ideally does not fit into the same group as an adult beginner.

This is the process – from online booking to the ski course:

When you pay for the course, you will receive the invoice and a ski course card. The children in the group ski course also receive a safety vest, deposit Euro 10,-. If you return the vest at the end of the course, you will get the Euro 10,- back.

  • Please book your desired course online and add in the comments that you will be arriving on the day of the course. Please call us the day before the course to confirm your arrival and the course.
Is a ski pass required for ski school lessons?
  • Yes, every ski school participant needs a ski pass to get to the ski area for ski lessons. Ski pass is not included in the ski school prices. Information about the Bergeralm Bergbahnen ski passes can be found at https://www.bergeralm.net/preise-winter/

All children who do not have to pay for the lift due to their age and who attend the ski course still need a lift ticket. This free lift ticket is also available at the Bergeralm Bergbahnen ticket office.

All beginners need a lift ticket for the gondola from the valley to the middle station and back on the first day. There are two conveyor belts in Noah’s Kinderland, for which you do not need a separate lift ticket. If you learn faster and make it to the 3-person lift on the first day, you will need an additional card.

Is the ski pass included in the ski school prices?
  • No. Children up to the age of 8 travel free. Otherwise, ski passes must be purchased separately. Information about the Bergeralm Bergbahnen ski passes can be found at https://www.bergeralm.net/preise-winter/

Will I get my money back if my child doesn’t like it at the ski school?
  • In principle, it is not possible to cancel a course. If, contrary to expectations, it still doesn’t work out, we have the option of rebooking your course within the ski school or charging it to other family members. If you wish to cancel the course due to illness or injury, this is of course no problem on presentation of a medical certificate.

  • Yes. Helmets and gloves are compulsory.
What payment options are available at the ski school office?
  • Cash payment, EC card, debit card
What do I need to learn to ski?
  • The right equipment is the first step to success.

Children in particular find freezing or excessive sweating very uncomfortable. Clothing should be adapted to the weather conditions. Suitable helmet with snow goggles or sunglasses and sun cream for the skin in all weather conditions. In our winter sports store directly at the valley station you can get everything you need for skiing … we will be happy to advise you.

  • Please also have your skis and boots checked by a specialist before the start of the course. If you haven’t already done so, bring the equipment with you to the registration desk and our rental staff will be happy to take a look at it.
Does my child need a snack during lessons?
  • Small breaks can also be taken during the ski course, depending on the situation, the weather and the age of the children. Perhaps a small rucksack with a small snack and something to drink will strengthen you and restore your strength.
  • And very importantly, a visit to the toilet before the course starts;-)))
